Front and Putnam
streets
A street car makes its way up Front Street near Putnam in this photo from
around 1900. Note the large awnings that shield the store fronts from
the afternoon sun. One of the arches that lit downtown streets is also
visible in this photo. Today the arches are gone. Most of the buildings
remain, many have undergone major renovations in the last few decades. |
